The Rocketeer + Jackets

Last night, KC & I watched one of his favorite childhood movies, The Rocketeer. Bill Campbell is looking kind of old-ish these days, but back in the day (1991) he was "such a stud". (KC's words, not mine.) But how rad is that jacket?



There's a place that produces/sells an exact replica, called the Rocket Jacket. I prefer the Jet Jacket (below) which is a modification of it. And 300 Canadian dollars cheaper.


I think, however, we'll leave the rocket jacket to the stud in 1991- I'd prefer mine in this jacket (as seen on The Sartorialist):

Wedding Inspiration : Mélangerie Inc.

I haven't been super impressed by or excited about the majority of the wedding invitations I've seen- so many of them are really beautiful, but they just don't feel right for us. And the ones I do like I'm struggling to take inspiration from because of how far out of our budget they are.

Wedding Inspiration : J. Crew Dresses

How cute is this for a 4-year-old bridesmaid? Of course, these decisions depend on a lot of other things that need to come first, but I came across this today & couldn't resist. Yum. I'll take one for me too.


It's no secret that I have a thing for J. Crew... love these (and the yellow color):

& I'm not opposed to using pattern, if not in the dress, then in the accessories:
I'm sure our mothers would die, but how rad would it be to have a floral printed bridesmaid dress?

Wedding Inspiration : Sean Lennon

I ripped this out of Fashion Rocks Magazine a while back and have been drooling over it since. I really love his outfit- the pieces themselves and the mix of colors & patterns in the pants, tie & shirt. I can't wait to start looking for KC's wedding attire.



Oh, and Jonathan thought the girl in the boat (Irina Lazareanu) was me. The bangs I guess? Very funny, but I'll take what I can get- even if it is from an 8 year old boy.

This makes me WAY happier than it should. But I've been without my laptop all year and yesterday this message appeared on the site:

And much dancing and joy entailed.

Honestly, Apple really let me down on this one. I had 2 really bad experiences with the geniuses, and said so in my response to their follow-up e-mail. So trip number 3 (for the same problem) I had a great genius and their manager came out and talked to me. But THEN I had to send my laptop off to Austin.... and after no change in the status for two weeks called the support line; the person said "oh it's been sitting waiting on a part. i'll put out a worldwide alert for this part. you should see a change on monday." Okay. So, if I hadn't called, would the part have come? Don't think so. But, never mind that, I was super excited that it came home today. Except... open box.... move packing material..... reveal my shiny MacBook Pro........ with a big scratch right on top. Nice job, Apple. Thanks a lot.

Yay! So happy for my brother & new sister-in-law. It was a reallllly fantastic wedding. The ceremony was beautiful & I know our families had so much fun at the reception. Congrats, guys! Love you both!
